Compact Mouse Stereotaxic Frames

Compact Mouse Stereotaxic Frames

The World Precision Instruments Compact Mouse Stereotaxic Frames was developed for laboratories using knock-out and transgenic mice.

Features & Benefits

  • Designed specifically for mice the frame offers a more open working area for extra surgical instruments then a tradition U-frame
  • Compact frame footprint of just 225 mm x 225 mm is ideal for laboratories with small spaces
  • Accuracy of non-digital models is 100 μm, and the accuracy of digital models is 10 μm
  • Double-lead screw design, more stable and accurate operation
  • Ear bar is made of polyoxymethylene resin, with two types of head holder provide a secure hold without compressing the sides of the skull inward
  • Laser engraved scales shown on the ear bars make the unit easy to operate (1mm accuracy)

Applications

  • Mice and neonatal rat surgery
  • Electrophysiology applications

Overview

This stereotaxic instrument is designed to use an adapter block to replace the traditional U-frame assembly. It satisfies the requirement of holding the mouse or neonatal rat firmly without the use of a traditional U-frame assembly. This instrument provides easy access to the animal and offers an open working area for additional surgical instruments.

Digital Stereotaxic versions features sealed electronic sensors and an easy-to-read LCD display with 10-micron resolution in all three axes. A zeroing function aids in targeting specific coordinates. The battery-powered display is electronically quiet, making it useful in electrophysiology experiments as well as keeping the workbench tidy.
