The MechanoCulture TX (MCTX) mechanical stimulation bioreactor applies controlled uniaxial compression to 3D specimens in six independent culture wells. Designed for incubator use, researchers can program a stimulation protocol, run it in a standard laboratory incubator, and log force and displacement to evaluate how construct stiffness evolves over time.

MechanoCulture TX is commonly used for mechanotransduction studies, engineered tissue conditioning, and long-term culture workflows where repeatable compression stimulation is required. Transparent wells support visual confirmation of specimen loading and optional imaging during stimulation.

Specimens are loaded into a reusable well plate with media, sealed with a flexible sterile barrier, placed on the controller, and run inside the incubator using a saved compression stimulation protocol. The actuation assembly applies uniaxial compression through plungers aligned to each well. The system can monitor the force-displacement data to determine the stiffness profile of each specimen as a function of time. An optional cooling pump can be added to limit actuator heat transfer during long runs.

MechanoCulture TX Models Available

The MechanoCulture TX is available with either a standard well plate or a perfusion well plate to support different compression culture workflows. Both configurations provide the same 6-well compression stimulation platform with load cells, force-displacement data logging, and programmable long-duration loading protocols, while the well plate format changes how media is handled during culture.

  • MCTX-400 Standard Plate version for routine compression stimulation, construct conditioning, mechanotransduction studies
  • MCTX-401 Perfusion Plate version for long-duration studies needing media exchange or perfusion-style handling.
